Seeking the perfect 360-oasis where you can indulge in classes like feel-good yoga flow, mat pilates, and barre and get holistic health coaching, massage therapy, or psychotherapy from certified practitioners? Oh, and how about a spot where your kids can take classes, too? If so, your dream studio is definitely here.

EveryBody Movement and Wellness, which officially opened at 4305 Locust Street in West Philly on October 7th, aims to be an inclusive, weight-neutral space for everybody — every body — to work on their movement and health. That means, for a start, that there are are prenatal and postpartum classes for moms, plus after-school yoga, tumbling, and hip-hop classes for kids.

Not only that, but their 20 group classes include barre, suspension training, kettlebell yoga, vinyasa flow, HIIT, myofascial release (that’s foam-rolling, kids), queer yoga, and a variety of Pilates classes ranging from springboard to pelvic floor. Class sizes are intentionally small, with equipment-based classes capped at six participants and most yoga classes capped at 12, meaning you have space to move, and to get a good amount of one-on-one attention, if you want it. Bonus: Every week, four classes are offered on a sliding scale and two are donation-based, making fitness as financially accessible as possible to all clients. (Could we love this studio any more?!)

In addition to small group classes, Everybody Movement and Wellness offers a range of wellness services from certified practitioners, including massages and counseling. Photograph by Sahar Coston-Hardy.

But wait, there’s more! If you want to get personal attention, you can sign-up for a 55-minute private Pilates session that’s tailored to you. The studio also boasts a (totally chic) wellness room, where all kinds of practitioners offer services like massages, therapy and counseling, and Reiki — plus nutritional and health coaching. That way, you can take care of both your body and mind under one roof.

Founder Julia Naftulin, a Pilates instructor, was inspired by the concepts of “Health At Every Size” and “joyful movement” after her second pregnancy in 2013. She wanted to open a space of her own — where the workouts resonated with her, and where people could find a workout that resonated with them — plus take their wellness beyond just working out.

“Our goal is to build a happier, healthier community rooted in mental health, self-care, and compassion,” Naftulin says. And that’s something we can definitely get behind.
