Kacey Musgraves‘s song “Lonely Weekend,” off her award-winning album Golden Hour, isn’t just a low-key bop — it’s a mood. “Guess I’m hangin’ by myself, but I don’t mind,” she sings a bit begrudgingly. We’ve all been there. But now Musgraves is making reluctantly isolated weekends a little better with a new me-time set to pass the time in a soothing way.
On Thursday, July 30, the singer-songwriter announced the launch of the Lonely Weekend Self-Care Kit: a combination of projects, coziness, and skin care that can turn any time spent alone into a truly enjoyable couple of days.
The Lonely Weekend Self-Care Kit comes with Musgraves’s take on two of the biggest stay-home trends we’ve seen during the pandemic: a puzzle, and a tie-dye kit. The latter comes with magenta, turquoise and yellow dyes, a dye fixer, applicator bottles, gloves, rubber bands, and instructions for dyeing the “It’ll be alright” cotton T-shirt in the size of your choice, also included in the kit.
The 500-piece puzzle, made entirely of recyclable materials, comes together to create a frame-worthy 18-by-24-inch rainbow portrait of Musgraves lying in the most glamorous take on the fetal position we’ve ever seen. Be sure to get comfortable before you settle in to start assembling it by putting on the kit’s ribbed, cotton crew socks, which say “lonely” down one shin and “weekend” down the other.
Our favorite part of the kit, however, has to be the Shooting Star Bath Bomb: Although it looks like a yellow star, it exudes rainbow gorgeous into tub, scenting the water — and you — with a refreshing yet relaxing combination of bergamot and sea salt.
Ready to treat yourself (or someone else deserving of a chill weekend for one)? You can get the Lonely Weekend Self-Care Kit for $100 on kaceymusgraves.com.
