A teen girl was sexually assaulted by a man after she got drunk and was put to bed by pals.
Matthew Lindsay, 22, carried out the attack on the 19-year-old in a Leith flat in Edinburgh following a drinking session.
The victim had been sick and friends put her into a bed with only the top half of her clothing on.
Lindsay also became intoxicated and was allowed to sleep next to the girl.
But a friend went to the bedroom and found Lindsay had stripped off his shorts and boxers.
A test on Lindsay found DNA from the victim on it.
Lindsay, of Cardenden in Fife, appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday and pled guilty to sexually assaulting the teen while she was “asleep, intoxicated and incapable of giving or withholding consent”.
Sheriff Norman McFadyen deferred sentence until October for reports and placed Lindsay on the sex offenders’ register.
